An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.

It's Finals Week....

I'm stressin' out over here!
30*40 Self Portrait of my Brain
That's right folks, a self portrait of my brain!!!  try that on for size! I had a heck of a time defining what my brain is.  I finally figured it out and this is what I came up with.

That is right folks, my mind is a giant maze!  A twisting, turning, get lost in it labyrinth! In fact I get lost quite often...

where was I?

Oh yeah!
This bad boy is due in two days!  yikes!  And so I'm a little stressed out about getting it done on time.  It's also one of the reasons I haven't posted much in the last couple weeks.

There is an art, or rather a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.

Matt wanted to share some of his flying videos.  It's fun going through the clouds.  He almost always has his camera on hand to snap a few shots of the horizon.  The first video is flying in between a couple clouds and the second video is flying right through a cloud.
We thought you might enjoy!

PS. there isn't much to listen to, so don't feel bad about muting it as it can get a little loud.

Campers: Nature's way of feeding mosquitoes

We Went Camping!!!!!
For my birthday this year we decided to pack everything up and head to the UP(upper peninsula).  It was awesome!!!  Matt and I love to camp but sadly, it had been years since out last camping trip.   I'm so glad we did it again!
We built a fire...
We even did most of our cooking over an open fire!!!
Saturday we spent most of the day hiking.  Here we are at the largest waterfall in the USA east of the Mississippi River!
Our friends, Robbie & Brittany, came out with us!  It is so much fun to have friends that like camping and hiking too!!!
A fun sign that we saw while walking through the woods.

The park that we went to is well known for it's waterfalls.  We hiked from our camping site to both the smaller falls and the larger fall!  It was a hike!  The sign from the small one to the big one said 4 miles-not bad eh? But when we got to the top someone in the know informed us that it wasn't four miles... it was 6!!!  We were all done by the end of that trail.  All in all we hiked about 8-9 miles that day!
So here are a few pictures I took of the waterfalls.
Isn't he good lookin?  I think so!
Oh!  while hiking we came across a TON of trees that looked like this.  Guess what did it!

Beavers!

The park ranger said that they are some of the laziest beavers ever!  they never finish cutting down any trees!  lol and they've never built their dam!!  lol

But I think this is my new fave picture!!!  Thinking I may have to print this one out.  What do you think?

Like I said before, we had a blast!!!  I'm so glad that we made the trip!  Besides being eaten alive by mosquitoes, it was great camping.   But we did realize something out there in the wilderness...we are too old to be sleeping on the ground!!!  Next time we'll bring an air mattress!!!
